Theme: Building Trust in Nigerian Software: Quality, Standards and Assurance in the Age of AI
Date: Wednesday, 25 November 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. West Africa Time (WAT)

Format: Online webinar

About the Webinar

Software has become fundamental to Nigeria’s economic development and public service delivery. From government systems and financial services to healthcare, telecommunications and enterprise applications, the quality, reliability and security of software directly affect organisational performance, public confidence and national development.

As Nigeria’s indigenous software industry continues to grow, there is a need to strengthen software testing, quality assurance, engineering standards and professional practices. The increasing adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in software development introduces new opportunities, as well as important questions concerning reliability, security, accountability and trust.

In response to these developments, the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) is convening a national webinar to promote practical approaches to software quality assurance, encourage the adoption of appropriate standards and strengthen confidence in Nigerian-developed software.

Objectives of the Webinar

The webinar aims to:

  1. Promote best practices in software testing, quality assurance and software engineering.
  2. Examine relevant software quality standards and their application in Nigeria.
  3. Explore the opportunities and risks associated with AI-assisted software development and testing.
  4. Encourage stronger collaboration among software developers, software buyers, government institutions and industry stakeholders.
  5. Identify practical measures for improving confidence in, and adoption of, Nigerian-developed software.

Key Discussion Areas

  • Software testing, quality assurance and quality control.
  • Software quality standards, compliance and professional best practices.
  • Managing software defects, security vulnerabilities, reliability and operational risks.
  • The impact of AI on software development, testing and assurance.
  • Evaluating software quality during procurement, implementation and acceptance.
